About Grant PUD
Grant County residents and millions of electric consumers throughout the Northwest light up their homes, businesses and streets with power from Grant PUD. The utility is publicly owned and provides safe, reliable, not-for-profit electricity at a reasonable price while protecting the environment.
Grant PUD is a Washington state municipal corporation that began electric service in 1942. The ability to maintain local control of power resources allows this rural county to continue to grow and prosper. Low-cost power provided by the utility, is a key factor in the county’s leading role in the agricultural sector of Washington state and a driving force in the regional and state economy.
Grant PUD is fortunate to own two, large scale hydroelectric developments on the Columbia River, Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams. These two facilities, have the capacity to produce 2,000 megawatts of clean, renewable and reliable energy – enough to supply a city the size of Seattle. |
