Changes in PUD Senior Management Structure
March 1, 2007

EPHRATA, WA – Grant County PUD General Manager Tim Culbertson has announced a number of organizational changes at the senior management level that will be implemented over the next few months.  Culbertson’s senior team will include two assistant general managers and a senior policy advisor.  “With these changes, I am confident we have the right organizational structure to ensure efficient decision-making and day-to-day management, and the ability to look forward strategically,” Culbertson said.

Michael Woywod, the current director of human resources and support services, will be promoted to assistant general manager effective April 1.  Woywod’s responsibilities will be expanded to include information technology services in addition to his current areas of responsibility.

In mid-June, Chuck Berrie will join Grant PUD as assistant general manager in charge of all operations functions.  Berrie will be responsible for operations at the PUD’s two hydropower dams, power management, customer service and natural resources.  Berrie comes to Grant PUD with strong experience in the public utility industry.  Since April 2004, Berrie has served as the general manager for Okanogan County PUD and spent 19 years working for Chelan County PUD prior to moving to the Okanogan utility. Berrie spent his youth in Ephrata and looks forward to the opportunity to return to the area.

Current Assistant General Manager Joe Lukas will assume a new position as senior policy advisor, reporting directly to the general manager. Lukas’ responsibilities will include executive-level analyses. He will take the lead on special projects and focus on regional and national issues affecting Grant PUD. Lukas will transition to his new position in mid-June.  “We are fortunate to have someone with his experience and ability to take the lead on these important issues,” Culbertson said.
