Ductless heat pumps
A NEW option for heating and cooling

Ductless heat pumps are now offered under the Weatherization Loan Program for heating and cooling.  This type of heat pump is ideal for 800-1,500 sq. ft. homes with wall or baseboard heating.

Advantages of the ductless heat pump:

  • High efficiency.  In the pilot program, heating and cooling costs were less than heating with baseboard/wall systems and cooling with wall air conditioners.
  • Constant heating/cooling temperature.
  • Simplified installation.
  • Very quiet.  A variable speed fan delivers heating or cooling.

By participating in Grant PUD’s Weatherization Loan Program, qualifying customers can take advantage of the program’s four percent interest, 10-year loan.  To receive the full energy-saving benefits of the ductless heat pump, Grant PUD requires that customers also bring wall, ceiling and under-floor insulation levels up to current standards.
