Start or Stop Service

Start Service

To start electric service at a residence that already has electrical service installed, either call Customer Service (see the phone numbers to the right under Helpful Links ) or visit one of our local offices.

  • A $10 account service charge will be added to your first billing for transferring service into your name.
  • A deposit may be required if you have not established a satisfactory payment history with Grant PUD or a previous electric utility verified by an acceptable letter of credit.
  • Deposits are typically $150 for residential service.
  • We will connect your service within two business days following your request.  If it is necessary to connect the service after normal business hours, there will be a $150 after-hours charge.

Stop Service

If you are moving out of your residence, call Customer Service (see the phone numbers to the right under Helpful Links) or visit one of our local offices

  • Please notify us at least two days in advance of your move.
  • We will want to know what day you are moving out and will no longer be responsible for the electric billings.
  • We will also need a forwarding address.  A closing bill charging the unbilled energy consumption will be mailed to you.
