Fish, Water & Wildlife

SalmonAs part of Grant PUD’s commitment to protect fish, wildlife and other natural and cultural resources, the utility implements a variety of monitoring and management efforts.

Fish in the Project
As part of an ongoing effort to safely pass fish through the Priest Rapids Project, Grant PUD and its staff of fishery biologist and scientists, work collaboratively with local fishery agencies and tribes to study the behavior of fish passing through the Project.

Water Quality
Grant PUD currently operates and maintains four, fixed-site water quality stations within the Priest Rapids Project Area. Data collected from stations is used to document the status of key water quality variables within the Priest Rapids Project area and to comply with Grant PUD’s 401 water quality certification.

Wildlife Programs
The Priest Rapids Project is home to a variety of native amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Learn more about Grant PUD’s wildlife protection measures.
