Boater Warning!
Orange safety buoys and cable barriers installed upstream from the dams warn boaters away from the danger of close approach to turbine intakes and spillways.
Signs also warn boaters about the danger of coming close to the downstream side of the dams.
Water released from the dams can create hazardous boating conditions and abrupt river flow fluctuations affecting water levels.
The Priest Rapids Project portion of the river is known for sudden high winds.
