Crescent Bar Island
Owned by Grant PUD and currently leased to the Port of Quincy, Crescent Bar Island is a popular vacation site where approximately 400 parties lease condominiums and RV lots. The lease expires in June 2012. With a FERC requirement to increase public access and use under the new Priest Rapids Project license, Grant PUD commissioners hosted broad public outreach before deciding to allow the 50-year lease with the Port of Quincy to expire. The island will begin transition to full public use and access in 2012.
After consulting with members of the public regarding future public recreation options for Crescent Bar Island, commissioners narrowed down the range of alternatives in the Preliminary Schematic Diagrams to Options B and D. Both of these options remove the use of existing condominiums as overnight accommodations.
